Follow Your Nose

Updated: Sep 3, 2021

When I travel, I really love to have times when I just follow my nose. Meaning, I don’t really have set plans, instead I just go with what feels right in the moment. I just get present and pay attention to the sometimes subtle signs of what to do and where to go next. It may be overhearing a conversation from some locals, meeting someone and asking questions, noticing an advert or event poster and sometimes just following my gut knowing that wherever I am must be the perfect place at the perfect time. More often than not, this leads to the most amazing new discoveries and experiences as well as meeting some extraordinary people from all over that are doing the same thing.

Even in your daily life, it’s important to allow yourself times to just be in the moment and follow your nose to what feels right for you. To not have everything completely planned out and structured, instead just be and allow life to flow. Following your inspiration. Trusting that it will lead you to some new and extraordinary adventures.

So often I see clients that become so rigid in their daily routine that they don’t leave space for creativity and spontaneity. This can actually help lead to boredom and burnout in your daily life. Better to have a bit of balance in your life between being structured as well as opportunities to just go with the flow of life. Leave yourself some space to do nothing. Be present and flow your nose to what feels right for you in the moment.

Embrace the gift of life and all of the beautiful opportunities around you to explore, learn and grow as a person.

So, Let your hair down, Say YES to trying something new. Try new types of food, jump in a freezing lake, go where you are supposed to, stay up later than normal, say HI to a stranger, eat the forbidden fruit, go barefoot outside, walk in the rain and get drenched, climb to the very top of the mountain and see far off in the distance.

Try it and see what happens!

Hugs

See you soon

Dave
